Rosie hails from the vibrant town of Stroud, well known in the Cotswolds as a hub of creativity.

Growing up with rural surroundings, Rosie remained fascinated by the plants and undergrowth of the kerb-sides, fields and woodlands. She studied Art and Business Studies at A-Level, determined to try and be a practical creative person, and completed her Fine Art degree in 2009 finishing with First.

Rosie particularly loves sculptural seed-heads and intertwining stems and leaves. She works in Acrylic paint and watercolour pencil on board and her painting process involves building up layers of colour washes over a dark base.

Focusing on the negative spaces and building from dark to light, the result is one reminiscent of batik or stained glass.
